About Cars 4 Causes®, Car Donation Charity
Cars 4 Causes® originated out of a desire to help fund youth education. Along the road to achieving this one charitable goal, we’ve discovered a wide and wonderful community of charities and the people who make them possible. And so, as we’ve grown and evolved, we’ve branched out to what we are today, The Charity that Gives to Charities®. This year, we topped the $20 million mark. That means that we have contributed more than $20 million on to benefit more than 11,000 charities, all from the proceeds of vehicle donations.
This is the story of our journey.
We established Cars 4 Causes® in 1997. The urge to set up a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation grew, like so many do, out of a single, personal realization. Two of our founders were parents; when they participated in their son’s classes, they discovered how under-funded the schools were. One teacher was spending $200 to $300 per month on her class – out of her own limited salary!
The unfairness to both teachers and students fueled the idea that became Cars 4 Causes®. Our original objective was simply to convert car donations into funds for education, and we would have continued just doing that if not for requests from donors and charities.
Donor requests spur changes
A donor asked if we could accept car donations for charities other than education. We hesitated but were soon convinced. We found that many charities don’t have the resources to convert car donations into the funding they need. We can help there. And further, people who donate their cars want a say in where the proceeds go. We set up Cars 4 Causes® so donors themselves choose the charities that benefit from their donations. In fact, our charity list, which now exceeds 10,000 charities (See a brief sample of charities), is almost entirely the result of donors’ requests, and we have passed on thousands of checks and millions of dollars to these charitable organizations.

Thank you for your comment ! I regret that we cannot assist your friend at this time. Cars 4 Causes(R) has so many requests that we are currently trying to fill that we are not able to take any new requests for give away cars at this time. We wish the best for your friend and recommend you try some of your local charities for assistance.

Dear Benevolent People;
I am trying to find a charity of some kind that would allow someone to donate cars to those who are in need. I wish I could help my sister, but am in financial trouble. She has 3 young children and is a single mother. Her car needs a new engine, and is no longer working. She lives in Northern Colorado, and the snow and below 20 degree weather will be settling in soon. If you could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Names, numbers, anything. Thank you for your time.

Our program is trying to meet the means of challenge in the Del Norte, Co. We have successfully opened up the doors for a job corp and we look forward to creating more opportunities to help every individual throughout the San Luis Valley area in a supportive and loving fashion.
As the new Donation Coordinator I am seeking two vans and one truck to facilitate the transportation needs of the job corp enterprises and restoration residents. At this time we have received support from a sister church that is kind enough to allow us to temporarily use their van.
If your service stretches out into the San Luis Valley we covet your consideration. Your acknowledgement of this request will be appreciated.

I am a mother of 2 beatiful boys ages 14 and 10. I am presently separated from my husband due to a great big mistake that he and I made. I am presently trying to correct this mistake by doing the right things but at this time I do not have a vehicle of my own. The vehicle that my husband and I had is now in his possession leaving me having to borrow a friends car or asking for a ride. My 14 year old has Autism Disorder,Language Disorder and Emotional Disorder. My 10 year old has just recently been diagnosed with ADD. They are both in need of this transportation for Doctor’s Appointments and such. If there is anyone out there that can help me and my boys we would highly appreciate it. Thank You Sincerely and God Bless You.
